On our weekly conference call with my siblings:
“O.K. I’ll do it. Just—I’ll just do it.” We’ve been dithering about how to get the house cleaned out and Dad ready to move into his new place. He has been living in his wife’s house – long story, but they kept their own houses, and hers is in another state. Now she says she can’t care for him anymore and he needs to move into another place. He’s not completely on board with the idea of downsizing, or the idea of moving into a retirement place. But he definitely cannot live on his own.
“It might even be fun – like a treasure hunt.”
